My good friend Tammy Ford found out the flavorful way when I taught her how to make my “Dirty Rice” grain bowl recipe!
The dish is quick, clean and FULL OF FLAVOR thanks to lean ground turkey seasoned with my homemade spice blend, a ton of tasty veggies & aromatics and the STAR ingredient – the Whole Grain & Brown Rice blend from VeeTee rice.
Once the protein and veggies are prepped and flavored (which takes 20 minutes tops), the VeeTee Rice gets added and only needs 2 minutes to cook. SOOOOO in less than 30 minutes, a mouthwatering, nutritionally balanced bowl of goodness is on the table and ready to be devoured!

Super Grain Dirty Rice
- 1 package VeeTee Rice Whole Grain and Quinoa blend
- 1 tbsp minced onion
- 5 large mushroom caps thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup pitted green olives sliced
- 1/2 cup baby tomatoes halved
- 1 large Jalapeno pepper sliced thin
- 1/2 lb ground turkey breast
- 1/2 lb shrimp peeled and de-veined
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/8 tsp cayenne powder
- 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
- 1 cap full apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Heat a med-large skillet lightly coated with olive oil. Add onions and sweat till translucent then add mushrooms. Stir mushrooms until they begin to brown. Add jalapeños and stir frequently until green peppers being to brown on the edges, then add tomatoes. While the first skillet is simmering. Add ground turkey to a second skillet coated in olive oil and begin to scramble turkey breaking into crumbles. Once the turkey begins to cook add dry spices and apple cider vinegar. Stir gently until turkey is cooked through and turns white.
While Turkey is cooking add 1 package of VeeTee Rice to the vegetable pan and sauté for 3 minutes. Once the rice softens, remove rice/vegetable mixture from heat and combine with ground turkey. Add shrimp to the mixture, stir to mix well and let simmer for 3 minutes until shrimp are cooked through. Remove from heat, top with chopped parsley.
